Welcome to Koh Phangan

Koh Phanghan is a curious island – during most of the month, it’s mild-mannered, not too crowded, and very cheap. All the watersports available on other islands are here as well – but there is no rushing about to participate. If you want to, fine – but plenty of people spend their time lounging on the large white sand beaches, wading out to the reefs with snorkel goggles, or enjoy a sunset sipping something refreshing and dining at the fresh (very fresh) catch of the day.

Then comes the full moon,Fullmoon Party when the bottom segment of the island turns into a free-love-sex-drugs bachannalian bliss search. The families flee, and young fashionable tourists (and locals alike) descend from all the other islands to let off some steam and go

wild – usually for days, but at least all night.

So depending on what you like, Koh Phanghan can be the perfect spot or exactly the place to avoid. Make sure you plan your trip with that in mind.
